Licensing Consultation Essential
Sat 26th Jan 2008
Mark Chapman, Lib Dem Councillor for Shefford, continues to press the District Council for proper consultation on licensing applications. "Currently, Town and Parish Council's are not automatically informed of, and given the chance, to make comment on applications" said Chapman. He continues "It seems crazy not to ask the local council what their thoughts and concerns are about these important issues. Local knowledge is being ignored, and that is a nonsense".

Flitwick To Pay For District Leisure
Tue 22nd Jan 2008
Flitwick District Councillor Steve Mitchell has criticised Mid Beds District Council's plan to make Flitwick pay £4 million towards a new leisure centre. Steve stated at a recent public meeting "It is unfair that 83% of the use of the current centre is by people from outside Flitwick, but we are having to pay almost 50% of the cost. The District is asking far too much of Flitwick. The plan itself is also very worrying, and will mean we lose further amenity land in our town"
